"Sweet tail light!"
This is the Cat Eye TL-LD1000 tail light. I bought it a year ago. It is the brightest tail light I have ever owned. It has ten LED's. Two rows of 5. Each row has 3 rear facing and 2 side facing lights. Each row has four different flash/steady modes. That creates 16 different flash/steady combinations. I swear if you were to pont it up towards the sky you could see this light from outer space. When I put this on my bike, after having a 3 LED blinkie light for years, all of a sudden passing cars coming from behind were giving me lots more space. I attribute this to the fact that they were noticing me a lot sooner then when I had the other blinkie. When you have all 10 bulbs flashing it is like having a Christmas tree mounted to your seatpost. On my commute after work today the skies were overcast and there was a light rain. I had one row of lights blinking for better visibility. A car came by, a Toyota Prius with two 20 something guys in it, and one yelled out the window at me as they passed. I thought it was the usual heckling, then I realized what the person had yelled. He yelled, "Sweet tail light". It must have been another cyclist admiring my light. When I told Susan about it when I got home, she seemed to think they might have been refering to a different tail and not the light. Hmmmm??
Anyway, if you are in the market for a new tail light, this is the one I would highly recommend.
I'm well on my way of reaching my 2006 mileage goal of riding 7,000 miles this year. I passed 6,000 miles today. Hard to believe, but I'm doing it. Seven thousand should be a breeze now. Even with an 11 day vacation in October. I'm not taking a bike. As much fun as I'm having riding this year, I think it will be good for me to have a vacation from the bicycling. Both physically and mentally. We're heading to southern Utah for some hking and backpacking. (although, to my surprise, Susan has suggested renting some mtn bikes in Moab for a day, so we'll see). We tend to over plan our vacations with a day-to-day itinerary laid out months in advance and back country permits reserved well in advance. This vacation will be totally new for us. We're getting in a car and are going to just wing it. Can't wait!
Todays mileage: 30
September: 644 mi
2006 total: 6,011 miles

i have a Serfas taillight on my 'bent, and thought of putting it on the LHT. it's quite bright, and comes with a smaller clamp for a seatstay, since my Carradice bag takes up the space of the seatpost. looks good though. might have to add that one. does it have a clothing clip or only mounting hardware?
I have the same taillight, it's the bomb! I think I'm going to get another one so I don't have to move this back and forth between my different bikes.
It doesn't have a clothing clip. It's a bit heavier then most lights. It uses 2 AA"s.
