Heatwave

The sounds of dripping water and the feel of humidity in the air. That was what today was like. The temps got up near 40 degrees. A virtual heatwave for this time of year. It will be short lived. Many people get giddy with warm weather in January. Not me, I prefer it cold. I prefer to keep the snow we have. I don't like brown, sloppy, melting snow, unless it's April and it's melting for good.

I got a lot of odds and ends done today. After yesterdays long ride I wanted to take it easy today and do either no ride or a short one. The short ride won out. About an hour before sunset I couldn't stand not riding today and went out for a short, yet hilly spin on the Cross Check. It had been overcast and foggy all day, but the sun burst through as I did my first climb. Forty degrees in January almost felt sinful. To be dressed so light and not be cold in one of the coldest darkest months. I have to say I enjoyed it even though our precious snow was melting.
