Took a short break from...

....blogging, long miles, and photo taking. After reaching my big goal for the year of finishing the AH 135 a few weeks ago, I feel like I'm entering my off-season. Odd, since most cyclists are gearing up for the coming nice weather and summer season.

This week I didn't do anymore miles than needed to get to and from work. I haven't blogged since Tuesday and I didn't carry a camera with me all week until today.

I don't think there's been more than a dozen days over the past two years where I came straight home after work. Most of my miles (8,500 in 2006, 7,500 in 2007) were done after work by taking various long ways home from work. This week I came straight home right after work all five days. It was a nice break. And a good way to get fully recovered from the big effort a few weeks ago.

I didn't set any goals this year outside of the big one. This is the year I ride completely for fun, basic transportation and utility. And I'll throw in a few overnight camping trips on the new Surly LHT. I'm really looking forward to the rest of my year on bikes! It should be a good one.

Wednesday: 16 mi
Thursday: 15 mi
Friday: 15 mi
February: 372 mi
2008: 984 mi

I feel like have to recover, too, after just reading about your race prep and the race itself. It's been fun.
