Eight below zero.

A mountain of water vapor rising from Lake Superior

This morning the air temperature was -8F/-22C degrees. Warmer than yesterday. I dressed with identical layers as yesterday. It worked for me yesterday. Today I was way overdressed and soaked several layers with sweat. The temperature difference was insignificant. However the wind chill was no where near as cold today. Like a difference between -30 and -15. Windchill always plays an important factor in this kind of bitter cold.

Neat contrast with the first photo on your previous post. The one looks like water and the other like fire.

Lucky you to be capable of braving such conditions ... Here in Gdansk (northern Poland) I can only dream of a 'real' winter. It's mostly around 0C degrees with either snow or slush in turn.

I like the way your blog is illustrated with photographs conveyinf a lot of atmosphere there. Good job!

Exercise in frigid temps is always problematic. Taking no chances, I stayed in except for the required snow removal. God, it's great to have a little snow for a change.

Fantastic shot! I miss those working down the hill instead of up like your route takes you. At least now I'm commuting distance from my income source.
